Consolle, Fantini – 2003

La storica azienda di rubinetterie Fantini chiede a Talocci di progettare un rubinetto che possa essere non solo efficiente e funzionale, ma anche di rispondere a esigenze più emozionali. La designer individua nella piccola cascata la suggestione più adatta a colpire l’immaginario di un bagno da lei sempre inteso oltre la pratica igienica, verso la cura e il benessere, in una visione che impara dall’oriente i propri rituali. Ne nasce un rubinetto dalla linea geometrica e rigorosa che unisce la funzione di erogazione dell’acqua a cascata con quella di un appoggio. Un rubinetto-mensola che svolge la sua funzione evocativa, senza rinunciare a quella prestazionale che, anzi, viene raddoppiata dalla possibilità di appoggio.

Un progetto plurisensoriale che può essere apprezzato non solo con la vista, ma anche con l’udito tenendo conto della piacevole sonorità che la piccola cascata genera.

Fantini, the historic, Italian tapware company, asked Talocci to design a tap which would not only be efficient and practical, but could also respond to more emotional needs. The designer saw the gentle cascade of falling water as pre-eminently suitable to make the bathroom a space which, as she had always conceived it, goes beyond ablutions to comprise care of the self and well-being, in a vision whose rituals are learnt from the orient. The result is a tap of precise, geometric lines which, in its cascade of water, combines the function of water distribution with that of a shelf on which to put things. A tap-shelf which successfully performs its evocative function without sacrificing performance thanks to its dual function. A multisensory design, appreciable not only with the eyes but also – through the pleasurable sound of gently falling water – with the ears.
